New Agreements Strengthens Newport’s Links with Kutaisi Stronger links forged between Newport and its twin city Kutaisi with the signing of new Memorandum of Agreement, which will enable students from Georgia to study at the University of Wales, Newport (UWN) Geoff Edge, UWN’s Pro Vice Chancellor (Regional Development) signed the new agreement with Bernard Tison, the Chairman of the Newport Kutaisi Twinning Association. Mr. edge said, ‘Over the years, the university has supported the Kutaisi twinning Association in a variety of ways and we are pleased to announce this new Memorandum of Agreement. “It will allow one student from Kutaisi to study a the University for one year and follow a Post. Graduate course. The aim of this initiative is to help develop the expertise necessary for Georgia to move forward and play a full role in a global community. The University welcomes over 300 students for 50 overseas countries, and this is set to expand in the next few years. Many home-based students welcome the diversity of our student population, which adds to the richness of their experience at University. |
