Taking into consideration the significance of this relationship,
in June,
this year,
Kutaisi festively celebrated its long-term friendship with Newport.

ჩვენს ქალაქს უელსის სამართალდამცავი სფეროს წარმომადგენელი,
გვენტის საგრაფოს პოლიციის უფროსი,
გლინ ფენქუესთი ესტუმრა.
ეს იყო ამ საპატიო და ამავდროულად,
საოცრად ხალისიანი სტუმრის პირველი ვიზიტი ჩვენს ქალაქში ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის ფარგლებში,
რომელიც მიზნად ისახავდა ჩვენი ქვეყნის სამართლებრივი საქმიანობის სფეროს გაცნობას.
On this occasion,
Kutaisi hosted a representative from the legal system of Wales - Chief Superintendant of Gwent Constabulary,
Glyn Fernquest.
It was the first time this highly respected and at the same time,
remarkably cheerful person visited our city,
within the framework of the Kutaisi Newport International Associaton,
aiming to get acquainted with the legislative sphere of our country.

რიტანელ სტუმარს უმასპინძლა შსს იმერეთის,
რაჭა-ლეჩხუმისა და ქვემო სვანეთის პოლიციის დეპარტამენტის უფროსმა ნუგზარ ქუთათელაძემ და ქუთაისის საქალაქო სამმართველოს უფროსმა ზვიად სვანიძემ.
სტუმარმა და მასპინძლებმა ერთმანეთს გაუზიარეს ამ ორი ქვეყნის შინაგან საქმეთა სამინისტროს საქმიანობის პრინციპები,
როგორიცაა დანაშაულის პრევენცია,
საზოგადოების ცნობიერების ამაღლება დანაშაულთან ბრძოლაში,
ადამიანის უფლებების დაცვა,
ყველაზე გავრცელებული დანაშაულებრივი ქმედებები და ბევრი სხვა სტრატეგია.
საუბრის შემდეგ სტუმარმა ხაზი გაუსვა საოცარ მსგავსებებს,
რომელიც ამ ორ ქვეყანას აღმოაჩნდა პოლიციის მუშაობის სტილის და პრობლემების კუთხით.

Our Welsh guest was hosted by the Head of Ltd.
Imereti,
Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department,
Nugzar Kutateladze and the Head of the Kutaisi Division,
Zviad Svanidze.
They discussed principles of activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of both countries,
such as crime prevention,
increasing public awareness in the fight against crime,
protecting human rights,
the most common criminal offences and many other development strategies.
After the meeting,
our visitor highlighted some extraordinary similarities between these two countries in terms of the police professional work style and the problems they face.
He personally visited several regional police stations,
studied the work of local officers and appreciated their commitment to duty.

ართველმა სამართალდამცავებმა მადლიერებით მიიღეს მნიშვნელოვანი რჩევები თავიანთი ბრიტანელი კოლეგისგან.
ბატონმა ფენქუესთმა,
თავის მხრივ,
აღფრთოვანება გამოხატა იმ ძირეულ რეფორმებთან დაკავშირებით,
რომლებიც ბოლო 10 წლის მანძილზე გაატარა ქართულმა სახელმწიფომ სამართლის დაცვის კუთხით და იმედი გამოთქვა,
რომ მალე საქართველოც გახდება დიდი ევროპული ოჯახის წევრი,

The Georgian law enforcers expressed their gratitude to the European colleague for some important pieces of advice. On his part,
Mr. Fernquest expressed his admiration for the major legal system reforms implemented by Georgia over the past 10 years and said he hoped that Georgia would soon join the big European Family because,
as he believes,
we have quite a lot to offer.

სტუმარმა ქართველ კოლეგებთან ერთად რეგიონის რამდენიმე ისტორიულ-კულტურული ძეგლიც მოინახულა და ეზიარა ქართული სუფრის ტრადიციას.
In addition to business conversations,
our guest of honour together with his Georgian colleagues paid a visit to several regional historic and cultural sites and became acquainted with the Georgian supra (feast) traditions.

ბატონმა ფენქუესთმა ყოველგვარი დახმარება და კონსულტაცია აღუთქვა მასპინძლებს და სურვილი გამოთქვა,

By the end of the visit,
Mr. Fernquest expressed his willingness to provide us with any help and advice and expressed his desire that our future relationship would be enriched with new friendly and extremely productive visits from either side.
