Official Meeting in the City Hall

იზიტის ფარგლებში დელეგაციის ოფიციალური მიღება გაიმართა ქალაქის მერიაში.
შეხვედრას ქალაქის მერი ბატონი შოთა მურღულია,
სახელმწიფო რწმუნებულის მოადგილე ბატონი პაატა ნადირაძე და მერიის სამსახურების უფროსები ესწრებოდნენ.

he Newport delegation was officially welcomed in the Mayor’s office in the Kutaisi City Hal.
The reception was attended by the Mayor of Kutaisi,
Mr. Shota Murghulia,
the Vice-Governor of the Imereti region Mr. Paata Nadiradze and the heads of different city council services.

ეხვედრაზე აღინიშნა,
რომ ქუთაისსა და ნიუპორტს შორის გაფორმებული მემორანდუმი პირველი საერთაშორისო დოკუმენტია ქუთაისის ისტორიაში,
რომელსაც ისეთი შედეგი მოყვა,
რომ ამ ორ ქალაქს არსებული ურთიერთობა ქალაქებს შორის მეგობრობის მოდელად იქნა აღიარებული.
შეხვედრაზე ასოციაციების მიერ გაწეული მუშაობა და განხორცილებული პროექტები გაიხსენებს და აღიარეს,
რომ სწორედ ასოციაციების მუშაობის შედეგია ის,
რომ ქუთაისმა ძალიან დიდ წარმატებას მიაღწია ისეთი სასიცოცხლო დანიშნულების სფეროებში,
როგორიცაა განათლება,
ჯანდაცვა,
კულტურა,
ქალთა ორგანიზაციები და ბევრი სხვა.
During the meeting it was emphasized that the agreement between Kutaisi and Newport was the first international document in the history of Kutaisi.
The Twinning became so successful that it was later recognized as a model of twinning.
The work of the associations along with the projects which they implemented was highly appreciated.
The hosts all agreed that Kutaisi had greatly benefited from the twinning and succeeded in many spheres of life like education,
healthcare,
musicians,
artists,
Women’s League etc.

ოგორც დელეგაციის ხელმძღვანელმა დამა როზმარი ბატლერმა აღნიშნა,
ასეთი წარმომადგენლობითი დელეგაციის შერჩევის ერთ-ერთი მიზეზი სწორედ ის იყო,
რომ შესაბამის სამსახურებში საქმიანი ვიზიტის შედეგად თავად დაენახათ ნიუპორტელ მაღალჩინოსნებს,
სად ჭირდება ქუთაისს დახმარება და,
სად შეიძლება ახალი პროექტების განხორციელება.
As Dame Rosemary Butler mentioned,
they had invited influential people from different walks of life to join the delegation in order to let them have a closer look at the situation in Kutaisi and plan the future projects.

ბატონმა შოთა მურღულიამ,
რომელიც ასოციაციის პრეზიდენტია,
გამოკვეთილად გაუსვა ხაზი ნიუპორტის როლს ქუთაისის განვითარების ისტორიაში და სიამოვნებით გამოთქვა სრული მხარდაჭერა მომავალი გეგმების განხორციელებაში.
The Mayor of Kutaisi Mr. Shota Murghulia who is the President of the Association highlighted the importance of Newport’s role in the development of our city and promised his absolute support in the implementation of the future projects.

ეხვედრის ბოლოს კიდევ ერთხელ გადაუხადეს მადლობა ნიუპორტის მაშინდელ მერს,
ასოციაციის პირველ თავმჯდომარეს დამა როზმარი ბატლერს,
ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარეს,
პროფესორ მადონა მეგრელიშვილს,
რომელიც მრავალი წელია უანგაროდ ემსახურება ამ საქმეს,
და ნიუპორტი ქუთაისის ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარეს სონია ფიშერს და ჩამოსულ სტუმრებს გაწეული მუშაობისათვის.
ბოლოს ქალაქის მერმა დამა როზმარი ბატლერს ქუთაისის გერბი უსახსოვრა და სამახსოვრო საჩუქრები გადასცა დელეგეციის წევრებს.
At the meeting the Mayor expressed a special thank you to Dame Rosemary Butler as the first Chair of Newport Kutaisi Twinning Association,
to the Chair of Kutaisi Newport International Association,
professor Madonna Megrelishvili who has been faithfully serving the twinning for more than 25 years and to the present Chair of the Newport Kutaisi Twinning Association,
Ms. Sonia Fisher for everything they have done.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Mayor presented the Kutaisi Coat of Arms to Dame Rosemary and other presents to all the members of the delegation.
